Birds of different feathers

All of these birds live in my house. Of the hundreds of embroideries I’ve made & sold, the birds continue to remain with me. They’ve thrilled my friends, my nieces & cousins.

सब से नीचे वाले परिंदे के घोंसले मे नज़र आने वाले सफ़ेद फूलों के गुच्छे: उन्हें सर्व प्रथम मैंने, "water soluble fabric" पे बना लिया...उसके बाद, उतने हिस्से को पानी मे डुबो के , पीछे का 'फाब्रिक", जो जिलेटिन पेपर की तरह दिखता है, हटा दिया...! इन गुत्थियों को अब केवल एक टाँके से, कढाई पूरी होते, होते, टांक दिया...!

Water soluble fabric भारत मे नही मिलता। इत्तेफ़ाक़ से किसी क्राफ्ट बुक मे मुझे इसकी जानकारी मिली और मैंने किसी आने जाने वाले के साथ,ये मँगवा लिया...

घोंसले के ऊपर नज़र आनेवाली हरी पत्तियाँ: सफ़ेद रंग के सिल्क के टुकड़े को मैंने water कलर से पेंट कर लिया...
तत् पश्च्यात उसे पत्तियों के आकार मे काट लिया...फ्रेम बनने से पहले सिर्फ़ एकेक बारीक टाँके से हर पत्ती को सी लिया...दुर्भाग्य वश, घोंसले का ऊपरी हिस्सा ठीक से नज़र नही आ रहा है..ऊपर की दो पत्तियाँ छुप गयीं हैं..

मेरी एक मराठी किताब का, जिसका गर हिन्दी तर्जुमा हो तो शीर्षक होगा," जा,उड़ जारे पंछी",ये मुख पृष्ठ है। इस शीर्षक तहेत एक मालिका, मेरे "ललितलेख" इस ब्लॉग पे है। मूल किताब मे अन्य १४ लेख हैं। उस किताब मे शीर्षक लेख छोटा है, बनिस्बत के जो हिन्दी मे है।

चित्र बनाया तब, सपने मे भी नही था,कि, कभी मेरी ही किताब का ये मुख पृष्ठ बनेगा!! किसने सोचा था, कि, मेरी बिटिया, जो, कढाई बनते समय केवल १३ साल की थी, अपना देश छोड़, कहीँ दूर मुल्क मे जा बसेगी...!और १२ साल बाद , उसकी याद मे ये लेख लिखा जायेगा...! खैर!

इस फ्रेम पे जब उजाला पड़ता है,तब ये फूल तथा, रेशम से बनी, हरे पत्तियों की परछाई पड़ती है...चित्र मे ३ डी इफेक्ट के कारन सजीवता नज़र आती है...
नीले रंग के ( आसमानी) सिल्क पे, हल्का-सा वाटर कलर करने के बाद, मैंने इस परिंदे का अस्पष्ट-सा रेखांकन कर लिया। ये चित्र मुझे World encyclopedia of birds ,इस पुस्तक मे मिला था...किसी वाचनालय से मै ये किताब ले आयी थी...परिंदे का नाम इस वक़्त याद नही आ रहा है...जब याद आयेगा, पोस्ट मे लिख दूँगी! ( Red headed Finch, ये नाम है, लेकिन यक़ीन नही)।

ऊपर से दूसरा चित्र है, Red eyed bulbul इस पँछी का..

तीसरा सभीका जाना पहचाना..."king fisher"!
परिंदों के पँख काढ़ते समय मैंने, धागों का ही इस्तेमाल किया है, वहाँ ज़राभी पेंट नही है...वरना आवाहन ही नही रह जाता...!
इन परिंदों के लेके सबसे बढ़िया compliment मुझे एक ३ साल के बच्चे से मिला था...." आपने इन परिंदों को मार दिया और फिर कांच के पीछे चिपका दिया"?

पुराने लेसके तुकडे, कुछ सिल्कके तुकडे, और कढाई..!.

Lace flower vase। ये भित्ती चित्र बचे हुए टुकडों मेसे बना है...

I had a BALL making this one. Rosettes, 105 year old ancestral laces, silk & embroidery. This frame must be at least 15 years old. I've preserved most of the family heirloom laces in this fashion. I made about 4 more vases using the remaining family lace I had. My daughter says it wasn't easy photographing them because of the reflective glass.कुछ लेसेस तुकडे तो १०० सालसे अधिक पुराने होंगे...नेट्स्भी ऐसीही कई जगहसे फटी हुई थी...जो ठीक लगी,वो चित्रमे शामिल हो गयी...

Garden path & its detail.
An abundance of stiches & some color on hand woven cotton।( पुनेके ओशो गार्डन पेसे ये कल्पना ली मैंने...उसमे अपने मनसे कुछ बदलाव लाये गए हैं....)इसमे कई सारे कढाई के टांकों का इस्तेमाल किया है....बगीचेमे भरे रंग और फूलोंकी कल्पना अपने मनसे की है....)

नेम प्लेट्स (Name Plate)

WE LOVE HERE

अपनी बेटी और उसकी सहेली के लिए ये Name प्लेट्स बना दी थीं मैंने....इसमे कई किसमके अलग,अलग कपडेके, सूतके, तथा sliver, जो सूत बनानेसे पहलेकी अवस्था होती है..(जिसे मेरी बेटीने हैण्ड डाई किया है),इनका इस्तेमाल किया है...कुछ दादा-परदादाके ज़मानेके बटन हैं, जिन्हें अन्डोंकी तौरपे इस्तेमाल किया है...कुछ कढाई है....जो घोंसला दिखाई दे रहा है, वो plumber ने फेंका हुआ रस्सीका गुच्छा है...नलके को टाइट करनेके लिए इस्तेमाल किया गया था...

फायबर आर्ट

These are some of the images of my work that I have been doing over a period of time. There are images of landscaping, bonsai, furniture designing (though just a couple of those) & my drawing room (not recent) apart from intricately pieced patchwork & wall pieces using many techniques. The wall pieces have many textural variations achieved through the use of combed silk cords(for the waterfall) or a statue made of plaster of Paris, or even yarns & slivers .Quite a few of these embroideries have painted backgrounds, using water colour on silk, of hand woven silks used to create certain effects. A closer, enlarged view will give a better idea of the varied techniques (inclusive of raw edges of silk pieces or saree or shawl tassles used for grasses etc. There is starched silk used for leaves & there is water soluble fabric used, first, to embroider upon & then dissolve to get a 3D effect by attaching those in the form of flowers etc.
